Who Knew?

File under - Who Knew? When you're a design geek, it's always interesting to find actors from your favorite TV shows/movies are talents in the design-y world as well!

The first two images comes from my newest (even though it's been out for a few seasons already and has a huge cult following) T.V. addiction's star, Patrick J. Adams of Suits. I fell down the Google rabbit hole of nerdy research and found he is quite the photographer and shares some of his goodies through his tumblr and instagram.

The last two images comes from our favorite mathlete, Kevin G a.k.a. Rajiv Surendra from Mean Girls fame - who, apparently has retired from acting and become a prolific calligrapher.

Announcement

Aloha loyal and new readers! Sorry it's been a bit quiet around here and the shop. As with all things in life - just when you think it's going one way, it can turn in an instant and your whole world as you know it has changed completely. I'm still gathering my bearings in all of this so my etsy shop will currently be on hiatus until I'm able to get back to it. However, my work will still be available to purchase through my Society6 shop which has art prints, iPhone/iPad/Laptop cases, t-shirts, bags, etc.

I will be adding new work to my shop as often as I can. If you don't see a piece of mine that you would like to see in the shop or have any questions please email me at info@meganmatsuoka.com and I will look into adding it for purchase.

Right now there is FREE shipping worldwide through Sunday so get in quick! Thank you and please check back at the blog to see when my Etsy shop will be back up and running!

Pearl Harbor

Given that I've been back in the residence of the Hawaiian Isles for almost a good 5 years now and not to mention my connections to the war following these events (my paternal grandfather fought on the American side in WWII) it is with a hint of embarassment that I admit - today was my first time in visiting Pearl Harbor and the Arizona War Memorial.

With a friend visiting from overseas it gave me a good chance to play tourist and cross another item off my bucket list and I'm so glad I did! A very moving and informative tour it was! To see the USS Arizona submerged and still leaching oil to this day and yet, life was still able to overcome and build a living reef on the actual wreckage with thriving fish swimming amongst it - if that's not a symbol for resiliance and hope I don't know what is!

Caves of a Thousand Buddhas

On my armchair wanderlusting tour I came across a place on the Silk Road oasis of China where there are caves featuring a multitude of Buddhas. What an interesting and fascinating site that I would love to add to the ever expanding list of places I must see! Read and see more about it here.

This is Love

I love how music can transform a mood in an instant. This piece, (which I've been playing on repeat) by Atticus Ross - says my feelings about it all in the title, "This is Love".
